Updated: Oct 2

We look forward to collecting eDNA in the Thames catchment rivers in partnership with Thames Rivers Trust and their Key Partners and The Missing Salmon Alliance. More to follow!

With a camouflaged, powerful body, this cool river fish can weigh up to 15kgs and blend into rocky riverbeds with its spotted and golden-brown camo’. Known for its incredible strength, speed, and acrobatic leaps. The splash-tastic, the mighty Brown Trout is an elusive yet dazzling dynamo of the deep.

A feathered frenzy of orange and electric blue! Weighing just 40 grams, but with a spear like beak and lightning-fast dives. A breathtaking, brilliant bird! Known for its stunning colors, the flashiest of all river fishers, the true avian ace of the waterways, the powerhouse that is the Common Kingfisher!

Slip sliding quietly in from the deep, dark waters of the Atlantic, appearing in YOUR river after a journey longer than a transatlantic flight having battled predators galore, and navigated through rivers, lakes, and streams, it's the undisputed Champ of the Serpentine Impersonators, the Master of Migration, the one and only, European Eel!

With sleek, silky fur, whisker twitching cunning and a playful yet sharp-toothed grin, weighing up to 11kgs…This aquatic acrobat is a master of underwater agility. Known for incredible fishing skills, the ultimate river mammal - let's hear it for the furry funster, the otterly amazing... EURASIAN OTTER!'
